The climate in Spain is incredibly pleasant everywhere. However, there are some slight temperature differences between these cities. Barcelona is located in the north of Spain, Valencia is a bit further south, and Madrid is situated more centrally in the country.

• As a result, Valencia is the warmest, with an average temperature of a remarkable 17.8 degrees Celsius.
• Both Barcelona and Madrid have an average temperature of about 15.5 degrees Celsius. In the summer, temperatures in all three cities often rise above 25 degrees Celsius. So, whether in Barcelona, Valencia, or Madrid, you can enjoy the warm Spanish sun all year round!

🌅 Size and atmosphere

Barcelona is a true metropolis with 1.6 million inhabitants. Valencia is a somewhat smaller but still vibrant coastal city with 790,000 inhabitants. • From Barcelona, you are very close to the mountainous landscapes of Andorra and the sun-drenched shores of Costa Brava, providing a diverse range of enchanting destinations within easy reach of this vibrant metropolis.
• Near Valencia, you can explore stunning nature and take memorable trips along the picturesque coastline. Explore the beautiful coastline, where the azure waters of the Mediterranean merge with golden sandy beaches, offering a perfect backdrop for creating cherished memories.

• In Barcelona, the metro system is perfect for getting around the city.
• In Valencia, the metro network is slightly less extensive but still easy to use. Since the city is relatively small and flat, we would recommend to use a bike in Valencia. 
• Madrid's metro system is extensive and efficient, making it a great way to get around this large city.

Additionally, you can explore all three cities on a bike and discover the city in an active way. Don't forget to explore on foot as well, as all three cities have beautiful streets, squares, and landmarks to discover. 

🍴 Gastronomy

Speaking of Spanish gastronomy... Barcelona is renowned for its delicious tapas, Valencia is the birthplace of paella, and Madrid is famous for its jamón ibérico (Spanish ham).

• In Barcelona, you absolutely must indulge in a tapas bar and enjoy all the delightful Spanish snacks.
• If you're in Valencia, you undoubtedly have to try the paella, the Valencian rice dish with seafood or other fillings.
• In Madrid, you cannot resist the delightful jamón ibérico!

🪩 Nightlife and festivals 

• Barcelona's nightlife is as diverse as its neighborhoods. Along the beach in Barceloneta, beach clubs and bars create a laid-back yet vibrant atmosphere for those looking to enjoy the sea breeze with their drinks.
• Valencia is globally renowned for Las Fallas, a spectacular festival featuring elaborate sculptures, lively street parades, and nightly fireworks. The city transforms into a colorful celebration of art and culture during this event.
• Madrid is renowned for its lively nightlife, with a plethora of bars, clubs, and late-night venues. From traditional tapas bars in Malasaña to upscale clubs in Salamanca, the city comes alive after dark.
