In this blog post, we will tell you why you should have a summer job in Spain, which open vacancies we have, and what you can do in your free time. Are you ready for an amazing summer? Summer jobs in Spain 

Doing summer work in Spain will give you the opportunity to have the best summer ever. There are a variety of jobs you can do, especially in the hospitality industry. Spain has a lot of bars, restaurants, clubs, and fun terraces. Therefore there are endless opportunities to work as a waiter/ waitress, (assistant) cook, bartender, you name it! Besides this, there are also enough opportunities to work in a hotel or resort. You can, for example, work as an animator and entertain all guests. Sports instructor is another possibility, where you will lead fun sporty activities for children or adults. Besides this, there are opportunities to work in the front office, restaurants/ bars, cleaning, etcetera. If you love the beach and are you a responsible person, then you can apply for a lifeguard job and work on the beach the full day! 

But why should you go abroad? 

Going abroad is good for your personal and professional development. You will learn a new culture, new language, and new norms and values. This will enrich your personality. Working and living abroad is a challenge, and you need to step out of your comfort zone. As we all know, getting out of your comfort zone is always valuable and worthwhile. 

You will get to know a lot of new people, and probably make friends for a lifetime! Outside your working hours and on your free days you will have enough time to explore the country. Summer work in Spain means a variety of weekend trips to do. Are you going to Barcelona, Valencia, or Ibiza? Having international experience is always good for your future career, due to everything you will learn while being abroad. You will get truly independent during your time abroad, due to all the challenges you have to overcome. You can’t quickly fall back on your family and friends and everything will be strange and new in the beginning. Therefore you will grow as a person. What you can do in your free time 

Spain has good public transport and this allows you to reach other cities or islands easily. Our marketing intern Lotte already went on a weekend trip to Barcelona and Mallorca for example, and our recruitment intern Kate went to Málaga, Marbella, and Ibiza! All from Valencia by train, bus, boat or plane in a few hours maximum. However, in your free time, you can also enjoy your own living area of course. Exploring the city centre, hiking in beautiful nature parks, snorkelling, enjoying delicious and cheap food or having a look at all the castles and museums you will find in Spain! Do you have a bubbly and energetic personality and do you put a smile on other people’s faces? Then you could search for jobs as an animator. As an animator, you work in a hotel and organize crazy games, lead sporty activities and you will ensure that all guests enjoy their holidays! That sounds like a fun summer job, right? For this job, you only need to speak English (B1) and any other language is a plus. The employer will provide accommodation, airport transfers, a competitive salary, and your taxes and health insurance are included. On top of that are your travel expenses reimbursed and there is a chance to earn additional income through promotion! These very generous job conditions will give you the opportunity to save money and spend it on fun activities and trips outside your working hours.

Do you already have a bit of experience as a team leader or as an animator? Then you can also become the team leader of the animation team! You will manage your team, and the resort's program and you will plan great shows and activities. The working conditions are the same as the job above, but your competitive salary will be based on your work experience. This job is also available in different places in Spain. 

Looking for another summer job in Spain? For a hotel, you can work as a front desk receptionist, guest relation officer, cook or assistant cook, pizza/ pasta chef, waiter/ waitress, barkeeper or housekeeper! With so many possibilities there should be a fun summer job for everyone! These jobs will give you the opportunity to collect valuable working experience, due to the international and motivating environment.
