Angelina: marketing intern in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands 🇳🇱
My working day starts every day at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m. After I've had my morning coffee, I say hi to our office dog Luna and plan my day. My tasks mainly include writing emails, blogs, headlines for social media, or vacancies. In between, I like to play with Luna or joke around with my colleagues. We usually have lunch together, and if the weather is nice, we often go for a walk or have an iced coffee to refresh ourselves. Then it's time to get back to work. After work, I go to the gym or cook with my roommates. The atmosphere here in the office in Leeuwarden is fantastic. The team is very young, and we always have a lot of fun together. We all get along very well and help each other. There’s a collegial working environment where everyone feels valued and recognized.
Outside of work, I've had the opportunity to explore the Netherlands and immerse myself in its culture, since I am from Germany. I've already spent a day with a friend in Amsterdam, exploring the vibrant streets and canals. In my second week here, I even went on a boat tour through the canals of Leeuwarden with my colleagues from work. It was a great opportunity to get to know the city better and to meet my colleagues. I also went on a road trip with my friend and visited some neighboring cities, including the port of Harlingen. Each trip offered a unique insight into Dutch life and left me with fond memories!
Although I had never been to the Netherlands before, I do not regret coming here at all. Leeuwarden is a charming city with everything you could wish for. The people here are friendly and open-minded, and there are so many opportunities to explore the culture and surroundings. I was also very lucky to experience Kingsday here, which I only knew about from the media. It was a lovely weekend where I was able to fully immerse myself in Dutch traditions and festivities!

Woizera: marketing intern in Valencia, Spain 🇪🇸
During weekdays, my internship day typically starts with a quick breakfast before heading to the office. My internship starts with a standup where we discuss what the tasks are for that day. Here, I get assigned various tasks by the marketing team. These tasks mainly revolve around writing different types of content such as ads, blogs, and job postings. Throughout the day I spend my time working alongside other colleagues. In between, I like to play with the office dogs and give them a lot of hugs! In the afternoon we have our lunch break and always like to enjoy the sun on our sunroof (it’s amaaazing ☀️). After our lunch break, we go back to work. I like working with all the colleagues in the marketing team. Working with them is easy and they are always open to help me with any questions.
I’m happy I chose the location in Valencia because the city is amazing and almost always sunny! After work, I go back to my apartment where I live in a house with six other roommates. We all get along very well which makes it easy. If you live in Valencia, you do notice the cultural differences. People in Spain live way more relaxed while we always have a set schedule in the Netherlands. Here in Spain, the people enjoy their free time and you see it everywhere. After work, Spanish people go to bars, the terrace, or the park to enjoy their time with loved ones. I think this is a huge difference with the Netherlands and I love it. In the Netherlands, we don’t go out during weeknights and we just stay home to relax. I have learned to enjoy my free time fully and explore the city. There is always something to do; you just have to be open to it!
