We have researched the best and most beautiful destinations for you in June. Do you want to take a break just before the peak tourist season begins? From short city trips to long-distance travels, read on for the ultimate destinations in this sunny month!

Puglia

Puglia is a region in southeastern Italy, located along the Adriatic and Ionian Seas. June is an excellent month to visit this beautiful region in the "heel of Italy." In Puglia, a favorite destination among Italians themselves, you can enjoy delicious olives, tomatoes, artichokes, and grapes. The history of Puglia is marked by conquests by the Greeks, Romans, and Spaniards, and these influences can still be seen today. Puglia is known for the baroque city of Lecce, white houses, and cliffside fishing villages like Ostuni. In the Alta Murgia National Park, you'll find Castel del Monte, a stunning 13th-century castle located on a 550-meter-high rock. Torre dell'Orso is one of the most beautiful beaches in Puglia. For wine lovers, a road trip from Bari to Lecce is highly recommended. This scenic route takes you past the most beautiful vineyards and olive groves of Puglia. Alberobello is a UNESCO World Heritage site, thanks to its whitewashed houses with grey cone-shaped roofs called trulli. It's an excellent destination for photography enthusiasts. Besides all the beauty, you can also enjoy a good glass of wine and delicious food: fresh fish, vegetables, the world's best olive oil, and the pasta Orecchiette.

Indonesia

June is an excellent month to visit Indonesia. Bali is undoubtedly the most famous and popular island, but Indonesia has so much more to offer! For orangutans, tigers, and tropical rainforests, head to Sumatra - one of the largest islands in the world. Here you can find the impressive Lake Toba, which was formed by a massive volcanic eruption and was felt worldwide. The lake is 87 by 27 kilometres in size, making it the largest volcanic lake in the world. 'Dragon Island' Komodo, on the other hand, is a very small island. Komodo earned its nickname 'Dragon Island' due to the 3-meter-long lizards that can be found here. These lizards are usually sunbathing but are not entirely harmless! Therefore, it's recommended to book a guided tour when visiting Komodo National Park. Additionally, Komodo is a dream destination for divers, as it offers some of the most beautiful dive sites in Indonesia. This is just a small selection of the beautiful islands of Indonesia, so be sure to explore beyond touristy Bali!

Stockholm

Stockholm is an ideal destination for a city trip in June. The weather is often mild and pleasant, with longer days and a refreshing breeze from the Baltic Sea. In Stockholm, you can enjoy numerous green parks, such as Djurgården and the Royal National City Park, as well as cultural highlights. Visit the Royal Palace and admire its beautiful architecture, or discover the historical charm of Gamla Stan, the old town. Stockholm is rich in museums, including the Vasa Museum, where you can see the famous warship, Vasa. Södermalm is a trendy district with many vintage shops for avid shoppers. While in Stockholm, you must try delicious Swedish dishes, from smørrebrød to Swedish meatballs. There is a wide range of cozy restaurants and cafes where you can indulge in tasty treats. Additionally, June is known for the Midsummer Night celebration in Sweden, a festival honoring the sun and light. This festival is an excellent opportunity to try traditional dishes, such as fresh potatoes, pickled herring, aquavit (a strong liqueur flavored with caraway and dill seeds), and strawberries are on the menu. Additionally, Stockholm has a vibrant nightlife with trendy bars, clubs, and restaurants where you can enjoy delicious food and drinks. If you have more time, you can also visit the Stockholm archipelago.

Albania is known as a destination for nature lovers, with stunning waters, large beaches with azure blue water, and a beautiful coastline. If you don't just want to lie on the beach, you can also visit Berat - one of the oldest cities in Albania and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Berat has a picturesque appearance due to its many historic Ottoman-style houses.
