The flavours of Thessaloniki: a culinary journey

In Greece, there’s a strong emphasis on fresh, homemade dishes and Thessaloniki’s food scene reflects that perfectly.

Living and working in Thessaloniki: expat experiences

Living and working in Thessaloniki means being part of a city where people from all over the world come together to create a vibrant, diverse community. Tim and Tess were drawn to Thessaloniki for several reasons, but what truly won them over was the exceptional hospitality and openness of the locals. This welcoming attitude made it much easier for them to create a home and feel a sense of belonging.

"We find Thessaloniki to be a delightful city, there's always something to do! Along the coast, you have a beautiful view of the water and the mountains beyond. You'd think you'd get used to it, but we continue to admire it with wonder. Coziness can be found on every street corner. We especially notice how relaxed the Greeks are here. We always say that Greeks here think, "If it doesn't happen today, it will happen tomorrow." It's a thought that would give Dutch people a stomach ache!"

Initially, they had their doubts but are so glad they took the leap. Now, they encourage everyone to stop overthinking and take a chance, rather than regretting not having tried. Both of them have a remote job and live together in their apartment in Thessaloniki. They enjoy the city’s relaxed pace to the fullest after work hours. 🌊

Their advice: ‘Don’t listen too much to those who sow doubt; this is your adventure, and you’re the author of your own life. So, what will your story be?’
