Living in Athens: what area should I live in?

When you’re preparing to move to Athens, choosing the right area to live in can be a challenge. Picking the right area depends on your lifestyle, work location, and personal preferences. Here’s a guide to help you pick the perfect neighbourhood to call home in Athens. 🏠

Athens has a variety of neighbourhoods, each offering something unique. For a lively, central vibe, Kexromis is full of nightlife and trendy spots. If you prefer a coastal lifestyle, Glyfada combines the beach with urban amenities. Plaka offers a historical feel with its charming streets, while Exarchia is known for its artsy, alternative atmosphere. For a calmer environment with green spaces, Marousi and Kifisia in the north are great choices. Each area has its own character, so it's about finding the one that suits your style. 🌴

If you are looking for something more affordable, a shared apartment is a good idea, with prices ranging from €300 to €500 per month. The good thing is that most of our employers will take care of temporary accommodation for you.

Living and working in Athens: expat experiences

Athens is a vibrant city, full of people from all around the world!

Take a look at Ilker, who travelled to Athens on his bike! After travelling for a while, he wanted to do something else and decided to contact Yobbers, and he could even start within two weeks!

“One week felt like a day, and I was preparing myself mentally for my new job. I was nervous and unsure, because I didn’t have a lot of experience in customer service. As the days in training had passed, I realised this was something I loved to do. We had an amazing trainer, she often referred to us as her children, and she’d definitely go the extra mile for her ‘kids’. If you didn’t feel well, or missed home, she was always there to talk to you, or help you out if needed. The training felt more like a month back at school than anything, which was really fun. I met a bunch of amazing people there from all over the place.” 🌎
